![]() ![]() Even if you had to have the cable plugged in just to activate the software, that would be fine. Get one and start customizing features to your liking. The price is a little high ($280) but it is a cool add-on that has already paid off. Using the fogs as turning lights also seems like something worth a try. I have also read about the speedo being off by as much as 10% (indicates faster than actual speed) so I will test with a GPS and use VCDS to adjust it to (hopefully) only a few %. I am sure I will find a few more things to mod just looking around and by trial and error. I will change (or at least attempt to) the following tomorrow: needle sweep at start up seat belt reminder chime off and comfort signal from 3 to 5 flashes. I suspect once an update to the software comes out it will even be better for us 2011 Jetta owners. What everything does is labelled and it is very clear. Using the Beta 11.3 software was easy and everything was basically "click the check box" to activate. It took all of 5 minutes to: disable the chirp on lock auto unlock all doors on key removal set key fob ability to open/close windows/sun roof and add the wiper delay drip catch feature. Just followed the "quick start" card that came with the cable and starting clicking buttons. I did some searching on-line, mostly in forums, to figure out what to do prior to buying it, but I did'nt read the manual at all. I bought a ROSS-TECH VCDS Micro-Can cable yesterday at a local VW performance store here in Calgary, Alberta. This way any car you have scanned (& saved the results) you could browse through the available "tweeks", without having to connect to it until you are ready to make changes. It would be great if VCDS could load a saved auto-scan log (to figure out what controllers are used so it can choose the right label files) - Then it could let you browse through your car's controllers when you are in the comfort of your home and not attached to your car. ![]() What I would love to see added to VCDS is a "simulator mode" (for lack of a better term)(and maybe Uwe will read this ). This is pretty much the way we all learned it. It's the best way to learn about your car's controllers and a good way to become familiar with the VCDS interface into them. Then click on adaptations and look at what is available. Open each controller and click on coding and scroll through the many pages of the "Long Coding Helper" and read what each bit & Byte does. The best way (unfortunately) to find out what can be changed it to plug VCDS into your car and "prowl" around. = 0) $("#trkFooterDiv").These are about as close as it gets: or this: ![]() Machine Mart Reviews - At Machine Mart we pride ourselves on great customer service but don't just take our word for it, read what our latest customers have said on the independent review website Trust Pilot.
